Usually I go through the events of these issues in more detail but this one does a lot of reintroducing characters we learned about in previous issues. Secret Files & Origins is a great way to get reacquainted with these characters but is also just retreading previous materials. Basically we meet the head of the newpaper the National Exposer, a very unfortunate name, that wants to learn more about the JLA. Through his assistant we meet each of the superheroes of the JLA and learn a little bit about their origins until we get to Wonder Woman. Through Wonder Woman we learn that there are more heroes out there we have yet to meet including Shazam, Robin, and more. They will join the JLA to help against the coming crisis that was teased at the end of the Justice League of America issue.
Overall this issue was the weakest so far in the series. This mostly stems from the fact that it just teases something new, and go over the previous origins again. That said it also felt like a great place for us to jump back on board. I look forward to meeting these new heroes for the series and seeing how Stan Lee treats this coming Crisis with them all.
Thank you for reading. Next week we will be reading Just Imagine Stan Lee Created Robin. If you are enjoying this series please give it a like, and comment below your thoughts. And if you are enjoying all the posts for this substack make sure to subscribe!
