We are getting near the end of Man’s Best, and this issue definitly feels like a penultimate issue because it is. In issue #4 of this series we get a lot of action, and character moments for our cast. Lovey gets a heart wrenching backstory, and the gang comes together around his past trauma.
As the gang starts to come apart due to their many differences Lovey inadvertanly brings them back together with his origin story. While this is going on we get some really cool chase sequences with a futuristic hover car. The way this issue is set up is really an means to the ends kind of issue. There is plenty to enjoy but at the end of the day it serves as a way to get us to the big reveal that will set up the conclusion to the story.

Throughout this series I have gone on and on about my love for the art. This issue continues that trend. The art not only provides really great personal moments between our main cast but also some great action sequences that turn into trippy neo-futuristic art pieces. While I am enjoying the story in Man’s Best the art really brings everything together in a way that make it stand out in this crowded market.
I know this review is short and sweet but really that feels like the best way to review this issue. For those that have been enjoying Man’s Best so far issue #4 will bring you to the point of excitement for the conclusion. This series has been very special and I can’t wait to discuss the ending with you next month!
Man’s Best #4 will be available at your local comic shop and digitally June 19th 2024. All cover art and the review copy of this title were provided by BOOM! Studios.
