Normally I start these posts off by listing the creators of the comic but this being anthology there are so many to list it would take a while. Tales From Exit 56 #1 is an interesting anthology comic that say’s it’s Twin Peaks as published by Vertigo Comics. So of course that comparison would peak our interest right? The series is about a small town that boasts a strange pantheon of gods that make life strange for it’s residents. For me anthology comics can be a tough sell but the ones I enjoy live inside a shared world, where the stories impact each other and an overall narrative. This comic looks to do all those things, with a wealth of amazing creatives behind it. The different art styles for the comic all look top notch, and seems to show the strange almost psychedelic vibe of the comics.
As much as I wanted to spotlight this comic I found it hard to do so. To describe it in depth is difficult, but to not share this with you all would feel against what this series is all about. I say this hoping that you all will check out the Kickstarter page in depth so you can see how special I think this comic will be.
The rewards are all really cool for this one. There are the more extravagant items to choose from like sketch cards, original art, and commissions. For most of us there are some great covers to choose from, 3 to be specific. The covers come from artists Heather Vaughn, Matt Harding, and Megan Hutchinson. The campaign also offers some great art prints based on the stories in this comic by LAne Lloyd, and Miasmatik.
As far as Crowdfunding Spotlights go this one is one of my favorites so far. Without having read a page of the comic I can just tell that what is being made here will be really good. To miss out on being on the ground floor of this series would be a shame, so make sure you check out the link and pledge today!
Thanks for reading. If you are enjoying Chris’s Comics Corner please take a second to subscribe, like this post, and comment below what you thought of this Kickstarter. And as always I’ll see you here next time!
